Disease description:

I’ve recently been feeling short of breath and decided to check my blood pressure. Could you please review the readings? My systolic pressure is 112 mmHg and diastolic pressure is 65 mmHg—Are these values normal?

Dr. Li Man
A blood pressure reading of 112 mmHg (systolic) and 65 mmHg (diastolic) falls within the normal range and is therefore considered normal. Generally, the normal blood pressure range is defined as systolic pressure between 90–139 mmHg and diastolic pressure between 60–89 mmHg. Blood pressure is influenced by multiple factors, including age, sex, body weight, physical activity habits, and dietary patterns. For individuals, maintaining stable blood pressure is critically important for preventing cardiovascular disease. Therefore, it is recommended to continue adhering to a healthy lifestyle—including a balanced diet, regular moderate exercise, smoking cessation, and alcohol moderation—to sustain optimal blood pressure levels.
