Recently, I’ve had no lip color, and my complexion also looks unhealthy—yet I feel physically well. What could be causing the prolonged absence of lip color?

Prolonged absence of lip color should first raise suspicion of anemia. Individuals with chronic anemia—or those with particularly severe anemia—may exhibit pale or colorless lips. Second, certain diseases may cause pallor of the lips; this is especially common among middle-aged and elderly individuals—for example, those diagnosed with malignancies. Additionally, malnutrition should be considered: in such cases, lip pallor is often accompanied by other signs, such as pallor of the face.
