What causes a hard lump inside the ear?
Disease description:
I have a hard lump inside my ear. I hadn’t noticed it before—I discovered it accidentally. What could cause a hard lump to develop inside the ear?
A hard lump inside the ear may indicate a sebaceous cyst or folliculitis, or could be caused by an external auditory canal furuncle; otitis media cannot be ruled out either. Additionally, it might be an ear canal osteoma—typically painless during routine activities but tender upon palpation. We recommend visiting a hospital for an ear CT scan to confirm the diagnosis and receive targeted treatment.
