What is the normal range for blood pressure variation throughout the day?
Disease description:
Since I need to monitor my blood pressure both morning and evening due to my health condition, I would like to ask: What is the normal range of variation between the highest and lowest blood pressure readings within a day?
Blood pressure naturally fluctuates over a 24-hour period: it is typically higher in the morning and lower during sleep at night. However, the variation in blood pressure over 24 hours should not exceed 20 mmHg; exceeding this range is considered abnormal. Additionally, nighttime blood pressure should not be higher than morning blood pressure—if it is, this also constitutes an abnormal finding. Engaging in regular physical activity daily is one of the most effective strategies for preventing hypertension.
