How Much Milk Should a 4-Month-Old Baby Consume?
Disease description:
My baby is now 4 months old, but I’ve noticed that he/she is eating very little. How much milk should a 4-month-old baby consume?
For a 4-month-old baby, the typical feeding volume per session is approximately 100–150 mL, and feedings are generally recommended every three hours. However, as each baby’s needs vary, this schedule cannot be applied universally. During this period, exclusive breastfeeding is recommended to supply the baby with essential daily nutrients—particularly protein and calcium—that support healthy growth and development. When feeding, adopt a “smaller-quantity, more-frequent” approach; avoid overfeeding in a single session, as this may easily lead to indigestion. Additionally, always burp the baby after each feeding to help prevent spitting up. Enhanced general care is also advised.
