What Causes Enteritis?

Enteritis occurs when the intestinal mucosa becomes infected by bacteria, leading to accelerated intestinal motility and increased secretion of water and electrolytes, thereby causing diarrhea. Anti-inflammatory treatment may be administered orally using intestinal antibiotics. Additionally, patients should be closely monitored for fever; if fever develops, intravenous fluid therapy should be initiated to replenish lost body fluids.
