Dr. Xu Min
There are numerous causes of low serum apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1), including chronic high-fat diets, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus—all of which may indirectly lead to decreased ApoA1 levels. Other contributing factors include long-term smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, irregular sleep-wake cycles, anxiety, physical overexertion, chronic sleep deprivation, inadequate intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, obesity, and insufficient physical activity—each potentially resulting in reduced ApoA1 levels. As ApoA1 is the primary protein component of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), its reduction poses significant health risks to the body.
