Symptoms of Osteophytosis
Disease description:
Recently, I experienced pain in my lumbar spine and thigh and underwent an X-ray examination, which revealed osteophyte formation (bone spurs). Could you please tell me what symptoms are associated with osteophyte formation?
The primary symptoms of osteophytosis (bone spur formation) include bony spurs, joint swelling and pain, finger joint swelling, erythema, warmth, restricted mobility, and spinal degeneration. Stiffness and numbness in the index and middle fingers are among the symptoms associated with cervical osteophytosis. Surgical intervention may be considered when conservative treatment fails and the patient’s condition is severe enough to significantly impair daily life. Therefore, it is critically important to maintain a proper balance between work and rest and to minimize the risk of colds or upper respiratory infections.
