Ovarian teratoma is a common ovarian germ cell tumor. Due to the ovary’s relatively active endocrine function, it is prone to developing various masses. Teratomas arise from incomplete differentiation of certain cells during ovarian development. These tumors contain diverse tissue types, including fat, hair, skin, and teeth. Ovarian teratomas are classified into mature and immature types: mature ovarian teratomas are benign, whereas immature ovarian teratomas are malignant.
