Losartan potassium tablets have numerous side effects, most of which are mild and transient, thus discontinuation of the drug is generally unnecessary. This medication may cause facial edema, fever, orthostatic hypotension, and syncope. It may also lead to angina pectoris, second-degree atrioventricular block, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and cardiovascular events. Gastrointestinal side effects include anorexia, constipation, vomiting, and gastritis. Patients are advised to seek prompt medical evaluation at a hospital and strictly follow their physician’s instructions for medication use; otherwise, renal dysfunction may occur.
