What causes a urine occult blood test result of 1+?
Disease description:
I’ve had abdominal pain for several consecutive months, and sometimes experience a stabbing pain during urination. Today, my hospital examination revealed trace blood in my urine (1+). Could you please explain what might be causing this trace hematuria?
If microscopic hematuria is detected, further evaluation is essential to determine whether there is inflammation of the urinary system—particularly to rule out urinary tract stones or infection. While urinary tract inflammation is the most likely cause, other urological conditions cannot be excluded. A urinalysis is strongly recommended, along with a renal ultrasound. To assess for uremia, blood tests measuring blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine are required.
