Can kidney stones affect sexual activity?

I haven’t been married for very long, but recently I’ve been experiencing severe lower back pain. After undergoing an examination, I was diagnosed with kidney stones. Could kidney stones affect sexual activity?

Having kidney stones does not affect normal sexual activity. Changes in sexual function are influenced by the reproductive system. Since kidney stones are a common condition of the urinary system, sexual function—whether strong or weak—is unrelated to the urinary system. Although the urinary and reproductive systems share anatomical and structural connections, they perform distinct physiological functions. Sexual function is directly affected only when disease occurs within the reproductive system itself.
