Osteophyte formation at the vertebral margins can reduce vertebral mobility, causing localized pain and restricted movement. Under a physician’s guidance, patients may use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), blood-activating and stasis-resolving medications, physical therapy, and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatments. Additionally, patients should avoid heavy physical labor, appropriately supplement calcium, and engage in rehabilitation exercises to slow joint degeneration. Patients with more severe disease may require surgical intervention.
