After giving birth, I developed mild anemia; my doctor said it was relatively severe. I’d like to know—what are the hemoglobin-based classifications for anemia?

Patients with anemia require medications to correct the condition. In general, pregnant women with hemoglobin levels below 120 g/L are considered anemic. In non-pregnant adults, hemoglobin levels between 60–90 g/L indicate moderate anemia; levels below 60 g/L indicate severe anemia; and levels above 90 g/L but below the normal range indicate mild anemia. For iron-deficiency anemia, patients may use iron cookware consistently, consume appropriate amounts of foods such as red dates and brown sugar water, collagen-rich gelatin (e.g., donkey-hide gelatin), plain milk, and eggs. It is essential to maintain a balanced diet—avoiding picky eating—and to engage in regular physical activity, maintain regular sleep schedules, and avoid exposure to ionizing radiation.
