The blood type inheritance chart is a table that shows possible blood type combinations between parents and their offspring. By inputting the blood types of both parents, one can determine the possible blood types of their child—a method currently considered scientifically reliable. This reliability stems from the fact that ABO blood types are determined by combinations of three inherited genetic factors (alleles): A, B, and O. For example, if both parents have type O blood, their child will invariably have type O blood. While the four most common blood types are AB, A, B, and O, over 30 distinct blood types have been identified to date. The accuracy of predictions based on current blood type inheritance charts is relatively high.
