What Are the Symptoms of Xerotic Eczema?
Disease description:
My skin has been very dry over the past two days, accompanied by itching. I suspect I may have xerotic eczema. What other symptoms does xerotic eczema present?
The primary symptoms of xerotic eczema include dry skin, scaling, erythema, and in some patients, fissures resembling fish scales. Pruritus is also commonly present. Xerotic eczema is associated with both genetic predisposition and seasonal factors—particularly prevalent during autumn and winter—and occurs more frequently in middle-aged and elderly individuals around 50 years of age.
