Why Do Men Also Develop Melasma?
Disease description:
Recently, I noticed that my younger brother has developed some melasma on his face. Why do men also develop melasma?
The primary cause of melasma on men’s faces is genetic predisposition—if one’s parents or previous generations had melasma, the likelihood of developing it increases. Additionally, psychological stress can trigger melasma: high life pressure, deteriorating environmental conditions, and covert workplace competition all contribute to mental strain. To help prevent or mitigate melasma, avoid excessive work-related stress, ensure adequate daily sleep, refrain from chronic sleep deprivation, and maintain skin hydration.
