Is it normal to have blood-tinged vaginal discharge?
Disease description:
Is it normal to have blood-tinged vaginal discharge last week?
Bloody vaginal discharge primarily falls into two categories: physiological and pathological. Physiological bloody discharge—commonly known as ovulation bleeding—typically occurs midway between two menstrual periods, approximately 14 days before the onset of the next menstruation. In mild cases, it may appear only as brownish discharge and usually resolves spontaneously within 2–3 days, rarely lasting longer than 7 days. Pathological causes of bloody vaginal discharge include menstrual irregularities, endometrial polyps, and submucosal uterine fibroids.
