How long does it take to recover from tubal ligation?
Disease description:
Since I no longer wish to have children, I am planning to undergo sterilization. Could you please tell me how long the recovery period is?
After tubal ligation, a minimum of two weeks is required for recovery; however, full recovery typically takes over one month. Following the procedure, patients should remain in bed for six hours, then get up and walk as soon as possible while keeping the lower back straight—this helps prevent adhesions between abdominal organs and the incision site and promotes faster recovery. Sutures may be removed seven days postoperatively. For one month after surgery, patients should avoid strenuous activities or heavy physical labor. Generally, tubal ligation in women does not lead to other complications.
