How long does a cough last after a cold?
Disease description:
Recently, I developed a cough after catching a cold, and it has persisted for several days. How long does a post-cold cough usually last?
Cough following a cold typically resolves within about one week for most patients. However, the exact duration of recovery varies depending on individual factors such as overall health status, age, and severity of the cough. Patients with poorer physical condition, advanced age, or more severe cough may require a longer recovery period—approximately two weeks—to fully recover.
