This procedure utilizes the photothermal energy generated by a laser device, which is applied to the conjunctiva on the inner side of the eyelid. A small incision is made, through which excess fat pads are removed; simultaneously, the laser’s vaporization effect tightens the dermal tissue, thereby eliminating under-eye bags. Laser-assisted blepharoplasty is relatively quick, causes minimal trauma to the skin and to blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatic vessels surrounding the eye socket, and is associated with only mild discomfort.
