Disease description:

The day before yesterday, I went to the hospital for the “two pairs and a half” hepatitis B test. The results showed a positive hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs). What does a positive hepatitis B surface antibody mean?

A positive hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs) test indicates that the body has produced a protective antibody—either following recovery from a prior hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection or as a result of previous hepatitis B vaccination. This antibody provides immunity and significantly reduces the risk of reinfection with HBV.
