What Foods Should Postpartum Women Avoid?
Disease description:
It’s commonly said that the postpartum confinement period is very important—so what foods are off-limits for new mothers?
Postpartum women should avoid spicy and stimulating foods, fried foods, cold or cooling foods, seafood, overly salty foods, and chocolate. It is also advisable to avoid malt-containing foods—for example, malted milk powder can suppress lactation in breastfeeding mothers and thereby reduce breast milk production. Additionally, commonly consumed foods such as watermelon, mango, cucumber, fatty meats, preserved eggs (century eggs), and Chinese chives should also be avoided.
