You should not drink alcohol immediately after taking emergency contraception. Emergency contraceptive pills must be taken on an empty stomach, and you should avoid eating large meals for at least two hours afterward; otherwise, contraceptive efficacy may be reduced, and gastrointestinal disorders may occur. Drinking alcohol shortly after taking the medication may not only impair its effectiveness but also interfere with drug metabolism, potentially causing liver damage. It is recommended to wait until the medication has been fully metabolized—ideally three days—before consuming alcohol.
