Treatment of Axillary Odor
Disease description:
I have axillary osmidrosis (body odor), especially in summer, which makes me feel very embarrassed. I would like to know what treatment options are available for axillary osmidrosis.
Axillary osmidrosis is commonly treated with topical medications such as aluminum chloride solution, which exerts an antiperspirant effect. Alternatively, potassium permanganate solution may be used, providing both antiperspirant and astringent effects, along with potent antibacterial activity that also helps eliminate odor. If pharmacological treatment proves ineffective, surgical excision of the apocrine glands may be performed to achieve a definitive cure.
