How to Determine Ovulation from Basal Body Temperature
Disease description:
I’ve also been trying to conceive by calculating my ovulation period recently, but it doesn’t seem very accurate. I’ve heard that tracking basal body temperature (BBT) can help determine ovulation—could you explain how to identify ovulation using BBT?
Ovulation can be determined by tracking basal body temperature (BBT), which typically rises by approximately 0.5°C after ovulation compared to the pre-ovulatory phase. To monitor this, measure your temperature at the same time each morning upon waking and record the values to observe the temperature curve. A sustained rise in BBT indicates that ovulation has occurred; this elevated temperature usually persists for about 12 days. If no significant change in BBT is observed, anovulation should be considered.
