What is the normal size of the testicles?
Disease description:
Since my student days, I’ve felt that my testicles are unusually small compared to those of my peers. What is the normal size of testicles?
The normal testicular volume ranges from 15 to 25 mL. A testicular volume less than 12 mL indicates testicular hypoplasia. Testes undergo rapid development and maturation during puberty, and gradually atrophy with advancing age. In males, the testes metabolically produce androgens and serve two primary physiological functions: spermatogenesis and androgen secretion. Moreover, the testes represent male fertility.
