Can people with gout eat cabbage?
Disease description:
I usually eat stir-fried cabbage with meat to fill my stomach. Recently, I’ve had a gout flare-up and would like to know: Can people with gout eat soda crackers?
Gout patients can eat cabbage. They should consume more low-purine foods, and cabbage is low in purines; therefore, it poses no harm to their condition. Moreover, cabbage is a green vegetable rich in various vitamins, which benefits overall health. Additionally, gout results from elevated uric acid levels in the body, leading to uric acid deposition in the joints. However, consuming cabbage does not affect uric acid metabolism or production.
