Can people with high uric acid levels eat cheese?
Disease description:
I’ve lived abroad for a while, and even after returning home, I still enjoy eating cheese. However, I’ve recently been diagnosed with hyperuricemia. I’d like to ask: Is it safe for people with high uric acid levels to eat cheese?
Patients with hyperuricemia are advised to avoid cheese. Cheese is rich in protein and fat, which may elevate serum uric acid levels and thus adversely affect health; therefore, it is best avoided. Excessive consumption of cheese can disrupt metabolic processes, leading to increased blood uric acid levels and potentially causing hyperuricemia or gout. If left untreated, this may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and various complications, posing significant harm to the patient’s health.
