Disease description:

Recently, I’ve noticed an unpleasant odor under my arms; my doctor diagnosed it as axillary osmidrosis (bromhidrosis). How can acquired (postnatal) axillary osmidrosis be treated or resolved?

Doctor's answer (1)
Dr. Wang Xiaoyan
For acquired axillary osmidrosis (body odor), daily underarm care is essential. Regularly cleanse the underarms, and consider using mild-scented bathing products. Wear loose, breathable clothing to allow adequate air circulation and help keep the skin dry. Physical therapies—such as laser surgery—may also be employed. Additionally, pharmacological treatments—including aluminum chloride solution—can be used.
