How is bromhidrosis treated?
Disease description:
I suffer from bromhidrosis (body odor), and it becomes extremely embarrassing every summer or after exercising. Therefore, I would like to consult on how to treat bromhidrosis.
For patients with mild bromhidrosis (fox odor), symptoms can be alleviated by maintaining good hygiene—such as bathing regularly, changing clothes frequently—and using antimicrobial soaps or personal care products to keep the axillary area clean and dry. Topical application of antiseptic agents, such as potassium permanganate solution, may also help reduce symptoms. For severe cases, surgical excision of the apocrine glands may be considered as a definitive treatment.
