For miliaria (heat rash), patients can generally use talcum powder or cooling, antipruritic lotions for management. Commonly used clinical cooling and antipruritic lotions include menthol calamine lotion, menthol tincture, and ichthammol calamine lotion. In cool weather, the rash typically resolves spontaneously. Patients can prevent miliaria by improving indoor ventilation. Additionally, patients should minimize sweating, avoid skin abrasions, and prevent secondary infection.
