Why do I have excessive eye discharge and blurred vision?
Disease description:
Recently, I’ve been waking up every day with excessive eye discharge (crusts), causing blurred vision. Could you please explain what might be causing excessive eye discharge and blurry vision?
Excessive eye discharge and blurred vision typically indicate ocular inflammation, such as keratitis. In keratitis, a brush-like, dark-red conjunctival congestion is commonly observed around the cornea (the “black part” of the eye). Keratitis is generally classified into bacterial and viral forms: bacterial infections typically produce thick, viscous discharge, whereas viral infections often yield filamentous (stringy) discharge. Watery discharge is usually associated with allergic reactions.
