Today, while taking my baby out, the baby was bitten by a mosquito and has been scratching incessantly. I’d like to know how to relieve the itching caused by mosquito bites in babies.

Mosquito bites on infants can be relieved by applying mentholated oil. If the skin is intact (i.e., no breaks or abrasions), calamine lotion may also be applied. A child’s skin is particularly delicate; therefore, mosquito bites often result in pronounced redness, swelling, and sometimes blister formation. Early intervention is essential to prevent further skin damage from mosquito bites. Additionally, if feasible, implementing mosquito control measures in the surrounding environment—such as using insect repellents or installing screens—will enhance protection and reduce the likelihood of bites.
