How to relieve intense itching caused by mosquito or insect bites
Disease description:
My friend was bitten by a mosquito (or other insect), and the bite is extremely itchy—so much so that they’ve scratched the area until it broke open, yet the itching persists. I’d like to know how to effectively relieve intense itching caused by insect bites.
After being bitten by a mosquito, the area often becomes intensely itchy. You can apply soap directly to the affected area to relieve itching. Alternatively, dampen a piece of soap and gently rub it onto the red, swollen area; the sodium salts of fatty acids in soap neutralize the acidic substances injected by the mosquito during biting, thereby alleviating itchiness. Diluted ammonia solution may also be applied to the bite site to neutralize the acidity of the injected substances. If itching and pain are pronounced, you may apply calamine lotion, sesame oil, or aloe vera juice to the affected skin.
