What are the symptoms of kidney cancer?
Disease description:
My uncle has recently experienced general malaise and hematuria, prompting him to seek medical evaluation; the doctor diagnosed him with renal cell carcinoma. What are the common symptoms of kidney cancer?
Early-stage renal cell carcinoma often presents with nonspecific or subtle symptoms and is frequently detected incidentally during routine physical examinations—such as abdominal CT scans or renal ultrasound. If the tumor invades the collecting system, it may cause hematuria, flank pain, and an abdominal mass. In addition to these local manifestations, patients with renal cell carcinoma may also exhibit systemic symptoms, including fever, anemia, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), polycythemia, varicocele, hypertension, and hypercalcemia.
