Large blisters following mosquito bites may indicate insect bite dermatitis. Large blisters after mosquito bites may result from a heightened skin reaction to the mosquito’s saliva. This condition typically presents with papules and wheals, accompanied by pruritus (itching). It is crucial to avoid scratching to prevent secondary infection. For mild symptoms, washing the affected area with soapy water may be helpful. If the skin is broken due to scratching, topical medications such as ichthammol ointment or norfloxacin ointment may be used—however, only under the guidance of a physician.
