What Is Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis–Type Orchitis?
Disease description:
I sought medical attention due to pain in the testicular area; the physician diagnosed me with orchitis. Later, I consulted a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner, who diagnosed me with “qi stagnation and blood stasis–type orchitis.” What exactly is “qi stagnation and blood stasis–type orchitis”?
Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis–Type Acute Orchitis is a common clinical subtype of orchitis. Its characteristic manifestations include gradual enlargement of the testis, making palpation difficult for clinicians; mild pain; a dark-purple, stasis-tinged tongue with thin white coating; and a wiry-slippery pulse. Treatment primarily focuses on promoting the circulation of Qi and blood, enhancing blood flow, and resolving nodules. The incidence of orchitis is continuously rising; thus, prevention is more important than treatment. It is recommended to maintain healthy lifestyle habits in daily life.
