Disease description:

My baby is now one and a half years old. After dinner yesterday, he developed mild diarrhea, which worsened during the night. This morning, we visited a doctor and administered some medication, after which his condition improved. May I ask whether carrots are suitable for infants with diarrhea?

It is acceptable for children with diarrhea to consume small amounts of carrots, as carrots are rich in vitamins—particularly beta-carotene—which helps enhance overall physical fitness. However, carrots have a relatively firm texture and should not be given to the child raw. Instead, they should be pureed or cooked thoroughly in congee until soft before serving. Consuming overly hard or difficult-to-digest foods may place additional strain on the gastrointestinal tract, thereby delaying recovery.
