Causes of lower abdominal pain associated with coughing include:
First, severe coughing can cause tension in the abdominal wall muscles, leading to muscle strain and resulting in lower abdominal pain.
Second, underlying diseases—such as ureteral stones, cholecystitis, intestinal obstruction, or enteritis—may also present with this symptom.
Patients are advised to promptly visit a hospital for ultrasound examination and/or laboratory tests.
