What foods trigger appendicitis attacks?
Disease description:
I felt mild abdominal pain upon waking up in the morning, and the symptoms worsened by evening. After visiting the hospital, I was diagnosed with appendicitis. What foods could have triggered the appendicitis?
Appendicitis is associated with certain dietary factors. First, a preference for spicy and irritating foods—such as chili peppers and hotpot base—can readily overstimulate gastrointestinal function, thereby promoting inflammation. Second, poor food hygiene, including consumption of spoiled or expired foods (e.g., milk, chicken), increases the risk. Additionally, excessive intake of foreign proteins and high-fiber foods may also contribute to the development of appendicitis.
