Can leg soreness occur after contracting HIV/AIDS?
Disease description:
I’ve long suspected that my recent leg soreness is related to an infection I contracted from having sex with an online acquaintance. Later, I read that HIV/AIDS can cause leg soreness—so, can leg soreness occur as a symptom of HIV/AIDS?
Leg muscle aches may occur in individuals with HIV/AIDS. During the acute phase following HIV infection, otherwise healthy individuals may experience symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, muscle and joint pain, and night sweats. If you develop any of these symptoms after engaging in high-risk behavior, it is recommended that you promptly visit a hospital for an HIV antibody test to determine, as early as possible, whether infection has occurred.
