Disease description:

I always have a sour smell under my arms, and no matter how many times I wash, it won’t go away. I’ve visited the hospital, and the doctor diagnosed me with bromhidrosis (axillary osmidrosis). Can this foul-smelling condition be treated?

Body odor (bromhidrosis) from the armpits is unpleasant but treatable. There are various treatment options available, with traditional surgical intervention being one of the most rapid and effective approaches. Thoracoscopic sympathectomy is another surgical option that can effectively treat bromhidrosis; many patients experience a significant reduction in underarm sweating and odor following the procedure. In daily life, it is advisable to wear cotton, breathable, and sweat-absorbing tops. During summer, applying an antiperspirant spray to the underarms may also help.
