When boils develop on the body, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial medications may be taken. Commonly used oral agents include doxycycline tablets or minocycline hydrochloride capsules. Concurrently, topical anti-inflammatory ointments—such as clindamycin phosphate gel or fusidic acid cream—should be applied. If the boil becomes purulent during treatment, prompt medical attention is required for incision and drainage of the abscess. During this period, spicy and irritating foods must be avoided, and squeezing the boil should be strictly prohibited to prevent inflammatory spread.
