My child has developed mouth ulcers over the past two days and hasn’t been eating properly for several days. I’d like to ask: How long does it usually take for mouth ulcers to heal on their own?

Dr. Zhang Lei
Oral ulcers typically resolve spontaneously within approximately 7–10 days, but proper daily care is essential. Failure to rest adequately or to avoid spicy and irritating foods after the onset of an oral ulcer may prolong the healing time. Conversely, increasing fluid intake and consuming more fresh vegetables and fruits during this period may help shorten the ulcer’s healing duration.
