Premature ejaculation is generally diagnosed based on either latency time or the number of thrusts. If ejaculation occurs before penile insertion into the vagina—or immediately upon insertion—it is typically considered premature ejaculation. In most cases, ejaculation occurs within two minutes after vaginal penetration, which constitutes a hallmark sign of premature ejaculation. Alternatively, if the number of intravaginal thrusts is fewer than 15–30, this may also indicate premature ejaculation.
