Disease description:
I feel that oral ulcers are diseases occurring inside the mouth and may sometimes be caused by bacterial infections. I would like to know which infectious diseases can cause oral ulcers.
Oral ulcers caused by herpes simplex virus (herpetic stomatitis) are contagious. While common aphthous ulcers (canker sores) are not contagious, oral infections caused by the herpes virus may be transmitted to others through direct contact—such as kissing. Patients should first determine the specific cause of their oral condition and then consciously avoid behaviors that could transmit the infection. In contrast, typical bacterial oral ulcers are generally non-contagious.
