Can patients with oral ulcers eat ice pops?
Disease description:
I’ve been suffering from oral ulcers and have been undergoing medication treatment for the past few days. Today, I suddenly craved ice cream—may I eat popsicles while having oral ulcers?
It is best to avoid eating cold foods, as oral ulcers involve obvious open wounds; consuming cold foods can irritate the wound and typically cause a distinct burning pain. Additionally, patients should avoid spicy, hot, grilled, or barbecued foods. Individuals with oral ulcers should consume fresh vegetables and fruits—such as celery, spinach, and oranges—to supplement vitamins B and C, thereby promoting ulcer healing.
