How to Treat Cracked Corners of the Mouth
Disease description:
The corners of my mouth are cracked, and it’s very painful when I open my mouth. How can angular cheilitis be treated?
Angular cheilitis (cracks at the corners of the mouth) can be treated by applying glycerin—mix a small amount of glycerin into your facial moisturizer, then gently dab the mixture onto the affected area. This helps hydrate and lock in moisture, thereby accelerating wound healing. In some cases, angular cheilitis results from vitamin B2 (riboflavin) deficiency; therefore, it is advisable to regularly consume foods rich in vitamin B2, such as fish, eggs, milk, and animal liver. Additionally, applying an appropriate amount of vitamin E oil may promote cellular regeneration and enhance wound healing.
