Today, while looking in the mirror, I noticed blackish-purple discoloration inside my mouth. What are the possible causes of blackish-purple blisters or patches in the oral cavity?

Blackish-purple blisters in the mouth may result from submucosal hemorrhage caused by factors such as accidental biting, scalding, or other trauma to the oral mucosa. They may also represent pigmented nevi (melanocytic nevi) on the oral mucosa. Additionally, consuming excessively hot food can irritate the blood vessels in the oral mucosa, potentially causing them to rupture and form blood blisters.
